Taking pictures in infrared is a lot of fun and helps fill a photographic day since IR pictures often look best under the kind of strong sun that you would not normally want to shoot in. This picture, for example, was taken at about 3pm on a very sunny day. It’s a 2 pane vertorama each pane of which is generated from an HDR image (let’s get as many digital processing techniques into one image as possible, eh?). It shows the section of rain forest you walk through between the parking area and the beach at Honolua Bay on Maui.
You can see the first “Enchanted Forest” image over on my Flickr account. It’s a very wide panorama whose aspect ratio doesn’t fit well on this site.
Thanks, Carsten. The more I look at this, the more I regret using FocalPoint to blur the top. I thought this would focus attention on the path but now it just looks blurry to me. When I repost this over on Flickr, I’ll try removing that and see how it looks.
