Austin Skyline, 2015

This is a section of the downtown Austin skyline shot during our photowalk last Friday evening. I captured the whole thing in two panoramas (one of which you can see on Flickr already) but I’ve not finished processing the large, night panorama yet so here’s a single frame showing the section that is changing the least. Since the last time I photographed this scene (here), the new J.W. Marriott hotel has popped up and partly obscured the view of the Frost Bank Tower but, other than that, it’s very similar. As you’ll see in the photo over on Flickr, the main construction action is taking place slightly west of here – I counted 6 construction cranes in this year’s panorama.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/11
  • Camera: NIKON D810
  • Focal length: 29mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 4s
