Cascade Volcanoes

A view of five of the volcanoes in the Cascades Range in Washington and Oregon. Mt Adams is in the foreground with Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, the Three Sisters and Newberry seen in the distance.

I took this with a point-and-shoot through the window of an airliner on the way home from our 2015 NxNW trip to the Palouse region of Washington state. The flight into and out of Seattle is one of my favorites due to the possibility of spectacular volcano views like this.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5
  • Camera: X20
  • Focal length: 25.6mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/950s
