Northern Mockingbird

I often fall into the trap of not photographing the common birds found in this area, forgetting that what’s common here is likely to be interesting to people from elsewhere. Here’s one of those – a Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) seen at the Soil Conservation Site 1 Reservoir near Kyle, Texas on January 1st, 2021.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.7
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 368mm
  • ISO: 640
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s
