Apologies for the posting hiatus! We spent last week on a road trip to Atlanta for a college visit for our younger son. While I neglected to post daily pictures, I did come back with some new images that I’ll be posting over the next couple of weeks.
I was rather impressed by Atlanta. The midtown and downtown areas have changed dramatically in the 20 years or so since I last visited and the overall atmosphere of the city was fantastic. One gem we discovered is the Beltline, a partly-developed hike and bike trail planned to completely encircle the city. We spent one morning walking the eastern portion of the trail and marveling at the development that is springing up around the route. This building caught my eye as we arrived at Ponce City Market (a large shopping and dining development inside a renovated industrial facility which sits by the route). It’s now an apartment complex but was originally a Ford vehicle assembly plant.
