Sotol Vista, Big Bend National Park

Sotol Vista is a stop along the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive in Big Bend National Park. The views were spectacular when we stopped there shortly before sunset a couple of weeks ago.

This picture marks the start of a short series from Big Bend exploring tonal recession. I love pictures containing layers of progressively-hazier landscape and, given how hazy the air was during our visit to the park, I managed to pick up quite a few.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 92mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/250s
