Hoodoos by Balanced Rock

To get to the famed Balanced Rock in Big Bend National Park, the trail takes you up the base of a valley whose sides are covered in these impressive hoodoos. The first mile is a pleasant trek on the flat but the last quarter mile requires you to climb through these outcrops to get to the crest where the balanced rock can be found.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 20mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/180s
