Looking Towards Santa Elena Canyon

A near-sunset view taken from the Sotol Vista viewpoint in Big Bend National Park in west Texas. The cut in the cliff visible on the left in the background here is Santa Elena Canyon which, although not looking particularly large here, is 1500 feet deep and enormously impressive when you are standing on the banks of the Rio Grande at the canyon’s end.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/8
  • Camera: E-M1MarkII
  • Focal length: 50mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
