Gooseneck Overlook

Having taken an exciting, if somewhat hair-raising, 4×4 drive down Shafer Canyon Road in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, last November, we eventually reached Gooseneck Overlook which offered some pretty spectacular views of the Colorado River canyon. It was around mid-day when we got there so the light was harsh but that’s never a problem in infra-red so here’s an IR version of the scene.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.6
  • Camera: E-M5MarkII
  • Exposure bias: -5/10EV
  • Focal length: 14mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s
