Today’s picture of a large butte near Hanksville, Utah was taken only a few minutes after yesterday’s but the light is dramatically different here. This drone shot was taken shortly after the sun crested the horizon at which point the scene became vastly more contrasty. When we planned to visit this location, this was exactly the time I wanted to photograph but, in retrospect, I very much prefer the still-directional but very much software lighting we had just before the sun rose.
