After The Leaps

After spending 40 minutes or so leaping into the air for us workshop attendee’s pleasure, Ballet Austin dancer Julius Taiber sat on an apple box to recover and was immediately noticed by Joe McNally who loved the pose and set up an “exhausted dancer” portrait. This image was lit using a single, enormous (5 foot?) umbrella camera right and about a foot from the model.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 45mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/250s
