Serrated Edge

I’m heading back into the archive of images from last October’s NxNW trip to Utah for today’s picture. This abstract image of an eroded ridgeline near Hanksville was taken from a drone just prior to sunset when the side light was touching only the very top of the ridge. Adjusting the white balance for the sunlit portion of the image, caused the shadows to drop to a cool blue yielding a a result that I really like.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: FC3411
  • Exposure bias: -1.3EV
  • Focal length: 8.38mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
