A-12 Canopy

I was delighted to see what I thought was an SR-71 Blackbird in the static display at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. On closer inspection, however, it seems that this aircraft is actually an A-12, the prototype for the SR-71. Regardless, it looked like a Blackbird and offered some interesting photographic opportunities including this image of the cockpit canopy. I’ll post more images over the next few days and all are details since the background of trees and parking lots was rather cluttered.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/11
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 41mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/350s
