End of the Road

Dead salmon lying on the banks of the Indian River in Sitka, Alaska. Each year, millions of fish return to the rivers where they originally hatched to spawn and then die, providing a valuable food source for other birds and animals, and cycling nutrients back into the forest ecosystem.

You can find all my photos from our expedition to Alaska and British Columbia at https://davewilson.smugmug.com/Travel/Alaska-BC-September-2023.
