Portable Sun – Chris vs. Chris, Broken Spoke, Austin

A humourous composite showing an unlikely game of pool in the famous Broken Spoke dance hall in Austin, Texas.

This was taken during our second afternoon shoot of the “Portable Sun” workshop. It’s a 3 shot panorama using flash to light Chris and ambient for everything else.

Now that’s a game of pool I want to play. Awesome photo, and I love the creativity.

Thanks, guys! There’s actually a funny story behind this shot. Normally, I would have taken it with 3 single shots from a tripod, moving the model between each then masking them together in Photoshop. Our instructor, however, would only allow us to use Photoshop for panorama stitching so, rather than using layers, I shot this as a 3 frame panorama, moving the model between the 2nd and 3rd shot then stitching them to generate the final image.
