Downtown at Dusk

Today’s image is another drone shot from Monday evening’s excursion into downtown Austin. This was taken about 30 minutes after the photo I posted yesterday, at a time that gives (to me, at least) a far more interesting and dramatic image.

My primary reason for flying in this area again was to check out the quality of low light images from the camera on my new drone, a DJI Air 2S, when compared to similar exposures taken with my older Mavic Air. I was reasonably happy with the Mavic Air images but the new pictures are noticeably cleaner and sharper so, coupling that with the fact that the Air 2S also stays aloft twice as long as the older drone on a single charge, I’m pretty delighted with the new system.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/2.8
  • Camera: FC3411
  • Focal length: 8.38mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/1.3s
