Apologies for the silence over the last week. I was off in Utah on our (mostly) annual NxNW Photography Group trip and we ended up spending too much time taking pictures, leaving no time at all for processing and posting! The trip was a spectacular success during which 10 photographers visited some glorious locations around Moab and Hanksville, many of them accessible only by serious off-road vehicles.
Since many of our locations were outside the heavily-trafficked national parks in the area, it was possible to fly drones and I had a lot of fun getting to know my new DJI Air 2S. This shot was taken just after sunrise at a spectacular butte outside Hanksville. Along with the others on the trip, I’ve agreed not to provide specific locations for any of the places we visited outside the national parks so I hope you’ll forgive my vagueness! Online image searches make it really easy to find great locations these days but frequently the same searches can turn previously-remote locations into tourist traps with tripods lined up from the wee hours so I’m doing my bit to reduce that likelihood for these particular sites.
For the technically inclined...
