On the last morning of our recent NxNW photography trip to Utah, we photographed sunrise from this unexpected location – a field of sand dunes an hour or so outside of Hanksville. The dune field was small, measuring only a couple of hundred yards along the road and possibly half a mile front to back, but it was definitely large enough to get some interesting images of. This shot was taken using my drone which allowed me to position the camera a few feet above eye level to best capture the shapes and textures of the dunes.
