I had great intentions of posting frequently while on our trip to Croatia but, in the end, there were too many other exciting things to spend my time on so I let the blog lie fallow for most of the trip. We’re home now (and jet-lagged as you can likely tell from the 6am posting time) so the pictures can continue.
During the Zagreb portion of our stay, we took a couple of day trips to various tourist sites outside the city. One of those was the historic city of Varaždin in the northern part of the country, close to the Slovenian border. Famed for its baroque and rococo architecture, the town spreads around this central fortress, built between the 14th and 19th centuries, which is now the home of the Varaždin City Museum.
