With the news that this weekend’s scheduled Imola Grand Prix has been cancelled due to flooding in Italy, I thought I would wander back through some old racing pictures and this one immediately popped up.
Kim Reimer, from Tallahassee, Florida, is a well-known sight at north American F1 Grand Prix races where he can usually be found surrounded by fans requesting selfies. Each year, Reimer builds a detailed scale model of the current Ferrari car in the shape of a hat which he wears all weekend. His picture frequently appeared in the press and on TV and he even scored a feature image in a recent New York Times article. I’m pretty sure I’ve bumped into him at every one of the Austin F1 races and, in this picture, you can see him in front of the tower at Circuit of the Americas during 2022 United States Grand Prix weekend.
