Natalie at DKR

Yesterday’s afternoon football game between the UT Longhorns and KU Jayhawks was another horribly hot one. The temperature in the sun where the band was sitting was somewhere around 130F, I’m told. I was overheated in a light shirt so I hate to imagine how uncomfortable it was for the band in full uniform.

In an attempt to break out of my cycle of taking the same pictures at every game, I threw on a fisheye and broke out the flash to try some dramatic portraits of band members. This one, showing Natalie Chavez in the trumpet section, is one of my favourites.

You can find all my pictures from the game at https://davewilson.smugmug.com/UT-Longhorn-Band/2023/Kansas-September-30th/.

For the technically inclined...
