Middle Bridge, Woodstock

No collection of Vermont images is complete without at least a few covered bridges so here’s one I visited yesterday morning. This is Middle Bridge in the quaint village of Woodstock, which, based on how long I had to wait to get a clear view of the interior, is apparently a very popular place for Instagram influencers to have their pictures taken.

The traditional wooden construction led me to assume that this was an old structure but, on researching it, I read that it was built in 1969 to replace a previous iron bridge which had become unsafe. Regardless of age, it’s an impressive structure and fits in very well as a central attraction in the village.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/4.5
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 7mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/60s
