I absolutely loved the Marching Crusaders Band at the Sugar Bowl Parade in New Orleans on December 31st last year. I loved them even more when I looked them up and read about The Roots of Music, the organization of which they are a part. Formed in 2007 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, The Roots of Music is a community organization promoting musical education and culture via after school programs for kids from 5 to 19 years old.
