Racing Robot

I’m just back from the FIRST In Texas District Waco robotics competition. This was the first competition of the year and the first competition ever for the new team I am helping with this season. They did very well and I’ll post some pictures of them later this week. While it doesn’t show our team, this image is one of my favourites so far, and contains the robot from Team 6800, Valor, based on Vandegrift High School in Austin, racing across the field during a match yesterday afternoon.

Once again, I was acting as event photographer and you can find all my images at https://davewilson.smugmug.com/Robotics/FIT-District-Waco-2024.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/3.5
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 50mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/10s
