Adobe Home

Adobe is everywhere in and around Santa Fe. While there are good reasons for this from a climate perspective, it’s also due to a Historic Preservation Zoning Ordinance passed in 1957 that mandates all buildings in Santa Fe are of adobe architecture. Rules also limit height to 45 feet in most cases too, so the city is generally very low compared to other similarly-sized developments.

Here’s a home in Eldorado, just outside the city itself, with a great view of the Sandia Mountains in the distance.

For the technically inclined...

  • Aperture: ƒ/6.1
  • Camera: OM-1
  • Focal length: 236mm
  • ISO: 320
  • Shutter speed: 1/500s
