The Counting House

My posting has been rather lacking over the last few days since we’ve been traveling. We’re in New Lanark, Scotland for a few days and I managed to take a wander around the village last night and took some infra-red images including this one showing the Counting House. New Lanark, a World Heritage Site, is home to a collection of 18th century cotton mills which was the site of a daring social experiment by Robert Owen and David Dale who reasoned that their company would likely be more successful if they treated their workers well, offering them fair wages, time off, social opportunities and education.

For the technically inclined...

  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/1000s
