Scottish Masonry, Craignethan Castle

This is a very typical example of Scottish architecture – slate roof, crowstep gables, solid sandstone masonry – and can be found at the visitor centre of Craignethan Castle (locally known as Tillietudlum Castle). This castle is about 6 miles from Lanark and a favourite of our kids who, on this visit, bought collapsible lances and swords and spent most of the time fighting on the lawns.
