Edwin Graham, Lanark Lanimers

Edwin is my best man’s father and, along with his wife Carolyn, one of the people I most look forward to visiting when I return to Lanark on our summer trips. I took this shot early on Lanimer Day morning. As an ex-Lord Cornet (the town’s representative at all the southern Scotland galas and events during the year), he gets to wear his official uniform and badges and participate in many of the week’s activities in an official capacity.

This shot was taken against the light with some fill flash to open up the shadows around his face and under the brim of his hat. I’m rather happy with the way it turned out.

You can find a couple of hundred of my other favourite shots of Lanark Lanimer Day 2009 here.
