This image is a bit of a departure from the norm for me. It’s the first image I’ve ever posted to the blog taken with a cameraphone (my iPhone 3G in this case). It shows the roof of a sandwich shop on 3rd St in Austin.
I’m posting this in response to this week’s Photo Friday challenge which requires that your entry be taken using a phone. In this case, I used the iPhone Photogene application to tweak the image slightly and turn it into a monochrome then I imported it into Lightroom and exported it at the correct size for the blog.
My iPhone’s lens is a bit duff (yes, I know they all are but mine is definitely worse than, for example, my wife’s) so I’ve given up trying to capture any fine detail at all with the thing. It does, however, generate some nice smeared highlights from the light fixtures and I found this and the highly geometric nature of the shot rather appealing.
