Down But Not Out, Wimberley Rodeo

One of the kids competing in the Mutton Bustin’ competition at Wimberley Rodeo gets up after falling from the back of the sheep he was riding.

This event was for kids under 10 years old. Their task is to ride a sheep, bareback, for as far as they can hold on. The winner is the one who gets the farthest. My son, Drew, took part and did pretty well considering he had never been within 6 feet of a sheep before Sunday night!

Nice portrait! The light is really excellent in this picture, and the man-like attitude of the kid is beautifully captured here.

Thanks, folks! All the kids who took part in this seemed to have fun but this guy impressed me with his “stand up, brush yourself off and get on with life” attitude.
