I’ll interrupt the vacation pictures for a day to share this image from a photo walk we had on Sunday evening in downtown Austin. Todd Landry was visiting from Dallas so Jim Nix, Pete Talke, Andy ”Atmtx”, Mike Tuuk and myself met up with him and wandered around for a while sharing stories and shooting HDR brackets. After the obligatory visit to the Capitol, we high-tailed it down Congress Avenue to get into position for a blue hour skyline shot.
This was taken from immediately in front of the Stevie-Ray Vaughan statue on Auditorium Shores and shows some of the major skyline landmarks including the Frost Bank Tower and the Austonian. I was shooting HDR panoramas and this is one of the panels for one of those shots. The layout of this blog isn’t particularly well suited to panoramic images but you can head over and see one of the final panoramas on SmugMug. The lighting and clouds were fabulous last night so I am confident that the new image will be significantly better than my previous exhibition headliner taken 18 months or so ago.
Great shot Dave and the pano is fantastic.
