Cave, Pedernales River

With the water level down by the falls being so low, whole new vistas of exploration opportunity opened up. You could, for example, easily climb down to this L-shaped cave which is usually partly or wholly submerged. The Cub Scouts who were hiking there that day reckoned wandering through this cave was the highlight of the camp.

Nice example of how hdr helps out an image. Well done.

Thanks, Chris. I processed this to pull out the rock texture so it looks “HDRish” but my primary motivation was to get some detail inside the cave. Without HDR, I would be left with a completely black frame assuming I exposed correctly for the outside world.

Ha! I always went there when the river was *up*. Now, I’ll have to go back when it’s down. Great shot.
