This is an image I shot earlier this year while on a photo expedition to Austin’s disused downtown power plant with a group of other HDR enthusiasts. It also featured as the bracket for Game 18 of HDR Tennis.
If you are interested in HDR processing, you may like to join in the fun and take part in the HDR Tennis games. We’re now operating on both Facebook and Google+. Every month or so, one of the page admins provides a set of brackets that anyone can download and process, then upload their result for critique.
We call it a ”game” since folks get to vote on their favourite admin image but the voting is really just a way of allowing us to choose who provides the bracket for the next competition.
On another note, if you have nothing planned for Saturday evening and want to spend some time hanging out with a bunch of local photographers, you are in for a treat since there are two photowalks scheduled in Austin that night. The first walk is meeting on the south steps of the Capitol at 5pm to shoot some twilight images between there and the Blanton Museum of Art. After this, some of us are heading north to join Trey Ratcliff who is organising a photowalk among the Christmas decorations on 37th Street at 8pm. If you can make it, drop by and say hello.

Thanks, gents. I’m delighted that you like this. It was a blast shooting inside the old power station though I expect it will be turned into a shopping complex very soon.
