Yesterday was an epic, 12 hour shooting day involving four distinct venues. I’ve gathered enough material to keep the blog in business for several months (as long as you don’t mind seeing Christmas pictures and classic cars for that whole period).
The day started at 10am at Dick’s Classic Garage in San Marcos. I spent 4 hours there shooting their magnificent collection of classic cars. After lunch, I drove back up to Austin and met Justin Balog who was visiting from Colorado to shoot the interior of the Capitol for a while. Alex Suarez joined us and we took full advantage of the Christmas decorations for a couple of hours.
At 5pm, we headed outside for the first of two photowalks which took place down Congress Avenue between the Capitol and the Blanton Museum then we headed off to pick up Jack Hollingsworth and get up to Trey Ratcliff’s Christmas light photo walk up on 37th Street.
The day ended with a pint at the Draught House pub and about 800 shots ready to be processed some time over the next 6 months or so.
This particular image was shot in the Senate Chamber of the Texas State Capitol. I was playing with some more ”zoom during exposure” effects and was delighted when one of the shots ended up looking the way I had planned! Just in case you were wondering, this image is straight out of the camera with no post-processing whatsoever.
Outstanding! And I can attest that it is straight out of the camera; Dave showed it to me last night! Great work, Dave!

Thanks for the confirmation, Van! I owe you a pint after our next photowalk.
Sweet shot, looking awesome. As for blog pictures is there such a thing as to many classic cars? No didn’t think so… Bring them on!!
Wow, that is really great Dave!
