One of the biggest problems of shooting shiny things like the cars down at Dick’s Classic Garage is that you tend to find yourself and your equipment in a lot of the reflections (as you can see here). The situation in this case could have been worse since I used a long cable release and got myself out of the shot but the tripod legs are easy to see in the picture.
I’ve thought about how to get rid of these and the only sensible suggestion (not involving lots of Photoshop time) I’ve come up with would have been to shoot the image from a lot further away with a very long lens and hope that the reflection was then too small to notice. Shooting off axis would also do the trick but that would change the composition so, for now, please forgive the tripod.
