Porthole on 1957 Thunderbird

This one is specially for Jim Denham who commented yesterday that he loved the porthole on the 1957 Ford Thunderbird. Here’s a porthole shot for you, Jim.

This is actually a couple of HDR images merged together in Photoshop using focus stacking to widen the depth of field. Even though the orginal was shot at f/16, I couldn’t get both the porthole and the interior sharp but by stacking two differently-focused shots, I can give the illusion that I have more depth of field than either original shot had to begin with. Isn’t Photoshop a wonderful tool?

Ah yes, that’s what I’m talking about! Nice that the interior came out, too, really adds to the shot! thanks for catering Dave!

What a great design that was. Incidentally, my son shot another ’57 and thought you might enjoy his perspective: http://www.garlandeyes.com/entry/car-show.
