Downtown Austin on a Foggy Morning

Last Tuesday morning, we had a dense fog advisory so I decided to head out and see if I could get any interesting shots. I had one particular picture in mind (more of which tomorrow) and expected to be shooting wide angle but, in the end, all the best images were taken with a telephoto lens and I wished I had a longer one with me.

Here’s one of those shots, taken from Courtyard Drive (the road that turns west off 360 just to the north of the Pennybacker Bridge). About half a mile up the hill, I cleared the fog layer and got a great view of the downtown buildings poking through the fog in the distance.

I like the simplicity of this shot. The colors are great too. Nice work.
