Live To Ride

I hadn’t planned on posting another series of iPhone pictures this soon but I’ve ended up with a few new, good ones from last weekend so here they are.

Yesterday afternoon I spent a couple of hours with Alex Suarez, Jack Hollingsworth and others taking part in an iPhone photo walk around downtown Austin. I was using the 4Gs this time and the pictures look fabulous (OK, I’m biased, but let me know what you think in the comments). Although I miss the ability to change focal length when framing shots, there’s something very liberating about having to live within the constraints imposed by a single, fixed focal length and a camera with very few bells and whistles. You actually spend your time thinking about composition rather than getting stuck in worrying about gear choices!

This picture was shot and processed in Camera+, my default and favourite camera app. I ran the Clarity filter then mixed in a black and white conversion to mute the colour somewhat without completely removing it. The result is, to me, a very appealing, high contrast, (almost) black and white image.

Great shot Dave! Love the reflections in the chrome! As a Harley rider/owner myself for 10+ years, this shot now makes me want to go out in my garage and polish mine up!
