Bamboo Texture

One of the most surprising and spectacular views for me along the road to Hana on Maui, was the bamboo forest somewhere in the vicinity of mile marker 6. I had known there was a lot of bamboo in that area and I had planned to take pictures like this one, but I had no idea that it would be such a huge expanse – hillsides covered with canes perhaps 20 or 30 feet tall and giving the whole area a wonderfully soft, rolling texture.
