Let’s head back downtown now for some more of the entertainment during Grand Prix weekend. As well as the (paid) headliner concerts, there was a great deal of excellent, free music to be heard in the 9 block area roped off to hold Austin Fan Fest.
The largest of the 5 free stages was the Bud Light Stage which occupied a parking lot at 3rd and Colorado. Of the bands I listened to there, these guys were definitely my favourites. Dumpstaphunk hail from New Orleans and had the crowd in their hands with their collection of fabulous, high energy funk. I’ll definitely be looking out for this band if they come back to Austin.
