After yesterday, I feel like posting another concert shot so here’s rap artist Nelly performing at the COTA Club in Austin Convention Center on Saturday, November 17th, 2012.
This was a tricky performance to shoot. The stage was set up with a catwalk running 50 feet or so into the audience and all the photographers were crammed in the pit on the stage-left side by the stage itself. Nelly and his crew seemed to prefer performing from the end of the catwalk which meant we were shooting through the crowd and straight into the light. Result – practically no usable images. After the third song, we were shuffled off but I managed to grab as few shots from the audience side on the way out and saved the day with this one.
