A ban on tripods need not mean that you can’t shoot HDR pictures. St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York is a great example. Although tripods are not allowed, other methods of stabilising a camera are fine. This was shot from a Gorillapod balanced on the back of one of the pews near the front of the cathedral.
