Carnival Conquest Dining Room

Carnival Conquest was in the news this week after it was diverted to Alabama at the end of one of its cruises. In this case, there was nothing wrong with the ship – a tug had sunk and closed a stretch of the Mississippi near New Orleans where it was supposed to dock – but with all the bad cruise-related stories over the last year, I guess the media reckoned it was worth making a fuss over.

We sailed on Conquest back in 2011 when the whole extended family cruised to the Bahamas and Key West from Galveston. It was a great vacation and, thankfully, we got back to the correct port on the expected day. Here’s a shot of one of the ship’s dining rooms that I took one morning while wandering around with the camera.
