Racing Helmet

Drew and I are heading out to Circuit of the Americas today to watch the American Le Mans Series and some qualification and practice for tomorrow’s World Endurance Challenge. After a soaking day yesterday (our rain gauge filled up – we got at least 8 inches over the last 36 hours), the skies are clearing so it should be a good day for racing.

One of the highlights of the events, or, at least, most of the events, at the track (unless you have megadollars, there’s no pit lane access at Formula 1) is the pit lane walk where fans get to walk among the cars and talk to the drivers and mechanics. Drew gathered autographs from most of the GrandAm and V8 Supercars drivers this year, I think. Let’s hope today’s pit lane walk is as much fun.

This shot was taken during the pit lane walk for GrandAm back in the spring.
