Lotus Praga LMP2

In addition to the main ALMS race, Saturday also saw qualification for Sunday’s World Endurance Championship “6 Hours of Austin” race.

I found a new place to stand at CoTA that lets me get head-on shots without a fence. If you have a 400mm lens or longer, take a trip up to the top level of the main grandstand and head to the north end for a good view towards turn 20. From here, I snagged several decent shots like this one of the Lotus Praga T128 car driven by the team of Dominik Kraihamer, Jan Charouz and Thomas Holzer. In case, like me, you don’t know much about WEC, it’s the championship that includes the famous “24 Hours at Le Mans” race each year.
