Rodeo Faces 5

One of the best parts about shooting the Dripping Springs rodeo vs. Rodeo Austin is that, in Dripping Springs, I have free reign to shoot from anywhere in the facility. In Austin, I’m pretty much confined to the public sections of the arena.

I took full advantage of this and spent most of my time behind the scenes at Dripping Springs, taking pictures around the chutes at both ends of the arena and concentrating on things other than the actual rodeo action that everyone was watching.

Here’s a good example of a shot I couldn’t have taken elsewhere – one of the rodeo cowboys resting on his saddle during preparations for his event.
