Each year at the Hays County Show, a royal court is chosen. These young ladies, a queen, princess and a collection of duchesses, don’t get to swan around during the show, though. All of them are active 4-H or FFA members who are showing their own livestock or other projects at the show and, in addition, all have a full schedule of duties including helping out in the show ring, acting as runners during the auction and being photographed with show participants.
