Command and Service Module, Saturn V

The Saturn V is a pretty darned impressive piece of machinery. The first thing that hits you is the overall size – it’s absolutely enormous – but, when you then have a bit more time to wander around, the more impressive thing, to me, is the enormous amount of intricate pipework and wiring visible in the spaces between the various components.

In this shot, I’m showing a section of the command module (capsule) on the right and the service module on the left. In the dark space (thank you HDR) between the two, the tracery of wiring harnesses and pipes forms an artwork in its own right.
