Each February, the cub scout pack has its annual “Blue and Gold Banquet”. In our case, this is usually catered by Boy Scout Troop 101 who have a reputation for smoking some mean barbecue.
The event also includes a couple of competitions, one for the best table decorations and another for the best cake, baked by the cubs themselves and decorated to go along with the banquet theme.
The evening culminates with the crossing over ceremony during which the Webelos II boys who have been awarded their “Arrow of Light” (the to merit award in Cub Scouts) cross over into Boy Scouts and are officially welcomed into their new troop.
In this picture, Andrew and George look through a hole in a large table decoration during last year’s Blue and Gold Banquet when the theme was “Lego”.
