This shot is from a couple of years ago when I spent a day in Death Valley National Park during a photo trip to California and Utah early in the year. The weather had been uncharacteristically wet so there was still a fair amount of water in the basin and we didn’t get to shoot the typical salt hexagon pattern that forms when the area dries out. Regardless, it was a fascinating place to visit and I need to get back – the diversity of landscape inside Death Valley is quite remarkable.
